New Songs, New Perspective, New Newish Newbies…

Slowly but surely working on new material. It’s remarkable how much time it can take to record seemingly simple things. Partly due to the fact that it’s hard just to schedule the time to do it. The new songs are coming along nicely though. What’s irking me is all the new songs are quite a huge departure from the older stuff so we’re in the strange in-between stage. I don’t want to put a lot of effort to promote the older songs since that’s not what we sound like anymore but I don’t have the new songs ready to debut. So if someone asks me to set up a show or if an opportunity arises, I’m stuck in the middle a bit. It’s a strange place to be.

It’s all going well though and sounding great. I’m having my good friend (and sometimes side-project mate) Spinmeister lay down some killer keys. His talent is awe-inspiring. I am truly honored to have him on the project. It’s funny because I’m making specific efforts to blur the lines between traditional activities and in this case a friend with whom I do a synth-pop side project (a minor theory) is now becoming a regular contributor to my main project.

Working on new songs, a new website, new promotional photos, new t-shirts?, new web networking, and new opportunities for non-traditional venues to play. Needless to say there are wonderful things afoot…
