Ford Fiesta Battle of the Bands

The short of it… Ford is relaunching it’s Fiesta line and putting the advertising into the hands of local teams across the major cities. Team Houston is having a Battle of the Bands competition that we have been accepted into. It’s May 1st from 6-11pm at Houston’s Warehouse Live. This is a FREE event, but you must RSVP to receive an electronic ticket.

And… you can help Team Houston send one of the local bands to BONNAROO! Send 1 text to 44144 with the word “ROCKSTAR” to cast your vote for Houston to win (normal text messaging rates apply and they promise to not spam you afterwards). It Team Houston wins the competition for these texts, then the band that wins the Battle of the Bands goes to Bonnaroo. It’s as simple as that.

The lineup includes:

Black Queen Speaks
Peekaboo Theory
Robert Ellis & The Boys
The Tontons
Wayside Drive

VIP access is available for $10 at the door. (100% of VIP Proceeds go to Noah’s Kitchen)

Screening of The Rock-afire Explosion

We are excited to announce that we will be playing at the historic Orange Show in Houston following the screening of The Rock-afire Explosion documentary, presented by SWAMP (The Southwest Alternate Media Project). Here’s some info from the SWAMP site:

RAE POSTERthumb Screening of The Rock afire Explosion

Once the animatronic entertainment at Showbiz Pizza, The Rock-afire Explosion faded into obscurity in the late 1980s. But thanks to YouTube, they’re back and hotter than ever! In this funny and touching documentary, Houston filmmakers Brett Whitcomb and Bradford Thomason explore the cult following that’s keeping these robot rockers alive today. www.rockafiremovie.com

Join SWAMP and The Orange Show for a special screening of Rockafire Explosion on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 7:00pm. The event will take place at the famous Orange Show Monument and will include pizza, beer and whole lotta 80’s nostalgia. Filmmakers Brett Whitcomb and Bradford Thomason will participate in a Q & A following the film screening.
